Lauren Hudson is fast gaining recognition as the “International Princess of Happiness!” She is an Emmy-Award winning Television News Reporter, Motivational Speaker and Author with a genuine enthusiasm that instantly connects with people around the world. Her book, On the Road to Happiness…Tales of The Traveler is a personal guide to positive living, and represents her journey to joy and many of the lessons she has learned along the way.

Lauren is not stranger to some of life's tough challenges. She was diagnosed with cancer just weeks after her mother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Lauren underwent nearly a year of treatment: surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. While Lauren won her cancer battle, her mother did not. For this Chicago native, life - as she’d known it, had completed changed.   Lauren embarked on a soul-searching journey to find the secrets of happiness that seemed to elude her. Over the years, Lauren has faced such challenges as foreclosure, repossession, bankruptcy, divorce, single-motherhood and more.  She shares some of the universal lessons she has learned in this little book with a big message for everyone. What is especially delightful is that “The Traveler…” is written in the form of ‘poetic prose’ – using powerful quotes and proverbs many will long remember.

Lauren Hudson has spent a career as a veteran television news journalist. She worked for more than a decade in the Detroit as a Reporter / Anchor and Producer, at WDIV-TV and WKBD-TV and was more recently noted for her nationally publicized celebrity interviews and movie reviews. The Associated Press, Detroit Press Club, and Michigan Association of Broadcasters are among those who have recognized her work.

As a graduate of the University of Michigan, her journalism career began as a Reporter / Anchor at the ABC affiliate in St. Joseph, Missouri where Lauren was named “Who’s Who Among American Women” for being the first African-American Television News Director in the United States. Ms. Hudson also served as a Producer at the CBS owned station in St. Louis, and News Director once again at WNWO-TV in Toledo.

Additionally, Ms. Hudson has produced internationally-honored motivational and instructional videos for Walter Cronkite (Team Excellence), Tom Peters (A Passion for Excellence), and Dr. Ken Blanchard (The One Minute Manager), receiving national and international honors.

As a Motivational Speaker, Lauren shares her insight, information and inspiration with audiences around the country. “The International Happiness Network,” which she founded, is now on all 7continents. She has shared the stage with such notables as world-renowned Speaker / Author Les Brown, and has worked as Director of the Les Brown Speakers Training Network. Lauren is often requested to serve as Mistress of Ceremonies, as well. She is, truly at the forefront of ‘spreading the word on happiness.’
