             Dr. Ben Carson
 "From 'dummy' to doctor"

As a child growing up in Detroit, Ben Carson did so poorly in school, his classmates called him
'dummy.'  Even though she couldn't read well herself, Ben's mother made him and his brother read
2 books a week. Ben told me that books helped expose him to magnificent possibilities he didn't
see in his low-income environment - and that as  a child he dreamt of being a doctor.  He
feverishly  pursued his passion and became a pediatric    neurosurgeon -  noted for being one of
the first doctors to actually separate siamese twins.  Dr. Carson's Advice:  Dream Big, and make sure
